Important Notes

  • Everything but flights. All of our trips are all-inclusive, from when you arrive until you depart, we will take care of you in style! You are responsible only for getting yourself here and home. We take care of all the accommodations, meals, drinks, tours, gratuities, transportation, cooking lessons, and excursions; with lots of laughter to boot.

  • You’ll book your flights in and out of Puerto Vallarta (PVR airport).

Arrival. You must arrive by 2pm on arrival day so we can make our boat connections. If your arrival flight is delayed, don’t panic, just contact us by cell phone and we’ll figure it out.

Departure. For departure day, book a flight that leaves in the afternoon, preferably after 3pm, again for boat considerations.

  • We will meet you at the airport and take care of everything from there!

For the curious, we will leave the city behind and drive to a quaint fishing village, where a private boat awaits to take us on a half-hour ride down the Costa Alegre to our boutique resort’s pier. It’s a beautiful 10-minute hike up to the resort, but with mules for bellboys, you won’t carry a thing. Your efforts are rewarded with tropical drinks awaiting you upon arrival. Welcome to Paradiso.

  • This is a boutique resort that was designed to immerse you and all your senses in nature. Each bungalow has its own terrace with jungle and Pacific Ocean views and personal pathways that follow the contours of the landscape and lead to the communal areas of the resort; a restaurant, bar, pool, yoga palapa, library and indoor/outdoor spa. The real attraction here is the outside, and you’ll get a front row seat. Many of the Casas (bungalows) offer open air bedrooms, an outdoor shower, even a few with plunge pools. All of them offer the soothing sounds of swaying palms and tree frogs to lull you to sleep.

  • From December-March the average highs are 75-85F and average Lows are 55-65F. Coastal Jalisco is on the same latitude as the Hawaiian Islands, so the climate is somewhat similar. Rainy season and hurricane season isn’t until July-October, so the weather should be dry and amazing. It is also Humpback Whale season! The whales come into the bay to have their babies and are often seen spouting, splashing and breaching.

  • We suggest a pair of closed toe shoes for adventures and a pair of sandals for down time. You can bring mosquito repellent, however, it will be dry season so there should be fewer; all beds have over-sized mosquito nets.

  • This is a very special community where indigenous, Mexican and other cultures live in harmony surrounded by nature. There is a remarkable diversity of birds (369 recorded species) including actual military macaws and other native parrots, blue footed boobies, pelicans, hummingbirds, egrets, herons, and so many others. It’s the best place in entire Vallarta region to see large forest eagles. Jungle life includes turtles, coati, armadillos, iguanas, and every color of tree frogs and butterflies. Sea life includes Orcas and humpback whales, dolphins, parrotfish, seahorses, starfish, pufferfish, giant manta rays, sergeant majors, eels, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, and beautiful coral to explore. As noted earlier, it will be Humpback Whale season! The whales come into the bay to have their babies and are often seen spouting, splashing and breaching.

  • Scorpions are native to the region, and while their sting can be painful, they are not dangerous to adults. The hotel staff do a great job keeping the resort scorpion free, but the occasional one will still be found. Wearing shoes, not leaving your things laying on the ground, and being aware of your surroundings will ensure a safe stay.

  • This boutique resort was hand carved into the hillside; as such there is a vertical aspect to the property. You’ll come across stairs as you walk between the different areas of the resort. The vertical nature is the reason for the views and adds privacy to each casa. It’s all very doable, but you should be able to navigate stairs. You should also feel comfortable stepping in and out of boats with assistance.

  • WiFi is available, and cellular phone service is available but limited. Most people will largely unplug and just check in as needed. There's an unapologetic absence of oversized plasma TVs.

  • Filtered drinking water is provided in every house, along with a small drink fridge to keep things cool in each casa.

  • We are able to accommodate any dietary restriction or preference. Once your booking is confirmed, we will be communicating with you and will ask about any dietary restrictions.
